Vishen Lakhiani

Vishen Lakhiani (born January 14, 1976) is a Malaysian-born entrepreneur,〔("How Mindvalley Founder Built A $40M Company With Only $700" ) Mixergy, Released on 30 October 2013.〕〔("Be slightly mad, Mindvalley’s Vishen urges entrepreneurs" ) Digital News Asia, Published 21 April 2014〕 education technology innovator,〔("XPRIZE Innovation Board" ) X PRIZE Foundationspeaker, and investor. He is the founder and CEO of Mindvalley, an education technology company specializing in innovation in education by introducing wellness, mindfulness and personal development into global education and lifelong learning.
As a speaker he is known for talks on entrepreneurial mindset〔("The Power of Rethinking Everything" ) Speaker Magaine, Released January 2014〕 and company culture. Lakhiani is also the founder of Awesomeness Fest, a biohacking and personal development event for entrepreneurs and authors; Mindvalley Academy, an "online university" for personal development; Project Renaissance, a community-curating experiment to cultivate entrepreneurial mindset in cities;〔("Project Renaissance" ) World Startup Wiki〕 and Omvana, a health and fitness app and online platform for mindfulness.
== Early Life and Education ==

Lakhiani was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He attended St. John's Institution, a primary school for boys, from 1983–1988. In 1988 he attended Sayfol International School, a private school that follows the London Edexcel IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) syllabus for its secondary level. After highschool he joined Taylor's University to complete his pre-university studies and was elected as class president in his second year.
In 1995 Lakhiani moved to Michigan, USA to study at the University of Michigan where he majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. There he discovered AIESEC, a non-profit student run organization dedicated to nurturing young leaders into becoming global leaders who want to make a difference in society. Lakhiani graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1999.
